I ride through Barstow's motel district on my way to the old-school Route 66 Motel where I'll stay again tonight
A few blocks of Route 66 in Barstow have bike lanes. Not quite wide enough, but I think they do help here (in some places, stingy bike lanes are actually worse than none at all).
