I hate to leave Wild Horse Mesa so soon after arriving. I wasn't expecting to reach an area where I would want to linger and explore after reaching the summit.

Several of the low mountain ranges in the distance are federally designated Wilderness area outside Mojave National Preserve which are also worth exploring.
