At the Ivanpah Road railroad crossing, I make a right turn toward Nipton on the dirt road (Nipton-Moore Rd) that hugs the tracks

The paved route to Nipton, straight ahead, is longer, smoother, and perhaps faster, but the slow dirt road along the tracks is more relaxing, and pretty much free of cars.
