I remember passing the dead Barstow Mall at the beginning of this trip; I'm still intrigued by it
Before it died, this mall probably sucked traffic from the shops that lined nearby historic Route 66. Once bombastic, this mall now seems quaint and historic compared to the ugly Walmart with endless parking lot just down the road.
