My first morning of the trip waking up outside in the Mojave Desert. Nice. Silent. Perfect weather: sunny, dry and low 70s perhaps.

I'm happy to sleep in late of course, which isn't always possible in the desert in the morning. After all, this is my spring vacation. The morning sun is heating up the tent, but there's just enough wind pushing slightly cool air through the open screens to make it comfortable inside.

I haven't seen anyone since leaving the pavement of Kelso-Cima Road yesterday afternoon. That's what I was hoping for.
