This road is still a hopeless sand pit, but I've decided I might as well trudge along anyway.

Really, it doesn't matter if it gets dark. I have a good headlight on my bike to guide me through the darkness to my destination and I would like to be near Butcher Knife Canyon for the hike that I have planned tomorrow.
