From the upper stretch of Morning Star Mine Road, I enjoy the views across miles of joshua-tree forest to the New York Mountains
The closest I've come to visiting any of the area before me is Butcher Knife Canyon, just out of view to the right. I hope to pass by the foot of those mountains later in this trip.
