Most of Ivanpah Valley is dominated by creosote bushes, but here I pass through an area of small rounded shrubs

Distances are deceiving out here in the open desert. I'd like to walk down to the bottom of Ivanpah Valley ahead, but I doubt I'll make it that far before sunset.
