Cornfield Spring canyon here is already in the shade; it will be dark by 17h, a bit before I make it back to my tent

One thing I've noticed here in Cornfield Spring canyon is that creosote brushes grow fairly close to the stream. They aren't riparian plants, but I have seen them flourish in semi-moist washes at other locations also.
