Now that I've passed the 2470-foot summit of Coit Road, it's downhill to China Hole, tonight's campsite at 1150 feet

The upper part of Coit Road descending Mahoney Ridge passess through a nice carpet of chamise chaparral with scattered clumps of grey pines and manzanitas (planted by a landscape designer?).
