I didn't travel as far as hoped today, but I'm very happy camping here by Slaughterhouse Spring, now planning tomorrow's hike

The night is super-quiet. I make Backpacker's Pantry Beef with Broccoli, but not hungry enough to finish it. I hear owls and distant coyotes in the moonlight. In bed at 23h30, mice fiddle with the corner of my tent; they leave after 1/2 hour.
